Description
A builder’s kit of a high-performance 700-class 3D helicopter with 120° CCPM swashplate and flybarless main rotor for 690–720 mm blades for 4525–4530 brushless motor and 12–14S LiPo. Contents: a complete set of the mechanic/airframe parts and manual; not included: brushless motor, electronic equipment, main and tail rotor blades. Specter 700 V2 Nick Maxwell Edition (NME) electric RC Helicopter is a special version of the 700 class helicopter offering a bunch of unique upgraded features to the proven world championship Specter 700V2 chassis. Updates to the base Specter 700 V2 airframe include stronger 7075 black anodized aluminium for the rotor head and tail rotor systems, a 1:1 swash to rotor head geometry that offers simple set-up and improved cyclic behaviour, a conical tail shaft and a tail hub that improve tail rotor symmetry and balance, updated tail blade grip bearing stack, a quick assembly tail control linkage rod that does not require glue, heavy-duty main undercarriage, and finally a unique yellow, blue, and silver "NME" style painted canopy. All of these updates were born from the desire for better performance as well as ease of life of the highly successful XL Power Specter 700V2 airframe. The Specter 700 V2 NME can adopt a wide range of brushless motors and electronics; therefore - either „straight out of the box“ or with optional parts added - it will meet the requirements of seasoned 3D pilots and is ready to work with their favourite and well-tested equipment. The Specter 700 V2 NME introduces a 10 mm lower rotor head that improves vertical mass distribution, bringing the centre of gravity closer to the centre of the airframe. Its compact nature aids in providing even more agility for pilots looking for an incredibly reactive model. Even with these changes, the rotor head still incorporates the durable double-row angular contact bearings which increase bearing life significantly. The tail boom does not need boom supports thanks to a strong 32 mm diameter carbon tube. On top of this tail boom, you will find the tail linkage rod, which additionally improves the CG thanks to the relocation of the tail servo to the upper frames, "side by side“ with the cyclic servos. By default, the tail belt is now 8 mm wide to ensure a long life. Tail pulley sizes have been adjusted to be larger (100T main pulley/20–21T tail pulley). The larger pulleys significantly reduce the bending radius of the belt, which even further improves belt life and reduces belt drag. An extremely lightweight tail fin is included to minimize as much weight of the tail and its momentum as possible. The frame consists of carbon sides and composite and aluminium alloy braces. It now features a rear load battery tray that allows the battery to be installed and powered up without the need to remove the canopy. The flybarless gyro tray has been moved to the front of the helicopter, which makes wiring the RC gear easier and reduces vibrations transferred to the gyro. The main undercarriage is wider and lower, which will help reduce tip-overs during take-off, auto rotation and rough landings; the default 15 mm legs can be upgraded to thicker 18 mm ones for pilots looking for something virtually indestructible.
