With the Futaba T16iZ Super computer remote control you make the affordable jump to the professional class! The new transmitter design with large color touch display and ergonomically optimized shape guarantees perfect operation of the clear transmitter software. The T16iZ Super supports the established transmission modes T-FHSS, FASSTest and S-FHSS.

The R7208SB receiver supports RX-Link and features antenna diversity.

NEW: In combination with the FUTABA SBS-01ML S.BUS Sensor Adapter (available soon) the transmitter supports the MAVLink protocol. MAVLink or Micro Air Vehicle Link is a protocol for communication with small unmanned vehicles. It is a very simple messaging protocol for communication with drones (and between drone parts on board). MAVLink follows a modern hybrid publish-subscribe and point-to-point design pattern: data streams are sent/published as topics, while configuration sub-protocols such as the mission log or parameter log are point-to-point with retransmission.

With the S-BUS/S.BUS2 servo function, all parameters of S.BUS/S.BUS2 servos can be set individually via the transmitter.

The transmitter is fully equipped with 8 switches, 2 rotary encoders and 2 rear-mounted slide encoders. All controls are ergonomically placed for perfect operation during flight. The ball bearing control sticks impress with their precision and unique adjustability. The spring force and the ratchet function can be adjusted from the outside on the joysticks. Each stick function also features digital trim. The Futaba T16IZ is furthermore equipped with an S.BUS and a headphone connection, as well as a trainer/DSC connection.

The transmitter comes standard with powerful software for motorized aircraft, gliders, helicopters and drones (multicopters). The menu navigation is available in 9 languages. Model & telemetry data can be stored and firmware updates for the transmitter can be imported via the SD card reader integrated into the transmitter.

FASSTest System
The T16IZ SUPER transmitter has  adopted the bidirectional communication system "FASSTest". Data from the receiver can be checked in your transmitter. FASSTest is a maximum 18  channels 2.4GHz dedicated system.

S.BUS2 System

Model data can be saved to a microSD card (SD: 32MB-2GB / SDHC: 4-32GB). When T16IZ SUPER transmitter software files are released, the software can be updated by using a microSD card update.

Edit Buttons
Two edit update buttons are provided and the operating screen can be immediately "Returned" to the HOME screen during operation. Setting operation can be performed easily by combining this button with a touch sensor.

Vibration Function
Selects a function that aerts the operator to various alarms by vibrating the transmitter in addition to sounding a buzzer.

Speech Function
A function which allows the system to provide telemetry data audibly. This function can also be utilized with commercial available earphones.

  • This measures the external voltage, such as the battery that is running a motor. The voltage will be displayed in the transmitter as "EXT-VOLT".
  • Maximum voltage is 70 volts.
  • Cable should be cut to desired length, then remove & save 30mm from the positive black line. Next, solder the fuse inline on the positive wire and reattach the section of wire that was previously removed and solder into place. The fuse should be attached as close to the external power supply as possible. Place shrink tubing over the fuse and cover all sodered areas. Shrink the tubing onto the wire with a heat gun. The cables will then be connected to corresponding + & - wires that connect the ESC to the battery and attached using solder and shrink tubing.

With the Futaba R7208SB, Futaba offers a particularly light and small receiver with telemetry and the new Dual RX function. Its narrow design makes it ideal for use in narrow fuselages.

When the R7208SB is operated in Dual RX mode, a second S.BUS/S.BUS2 receiver is connected to the one on the R7208SB and operated in parallel. Receiver redundancy further increases model reliability: In case of a problem at the main receiver, the system switches to the second receiver in a flash.

An additional S.BUS/S.BUS2 receiver is required to operate the R7208SB in dual link mode.

The R7208SB features antenna diversity. The receiver constantly compares which antenna has the better signal and switches to it in a flash.

Analog or digital servos can be connected to ports 1 to 8. To enable shorter response times, the servo output signal for digital servos can be changed to 6.3 ms (instead of 16 ms for analog servos). The PWM ports can be switched so that channels 9 to 18 can be used alternatively at the ports. Or the ports can be used as additional S.BUS2 ports.

Up to 18 programmable S.BUS servos or other S.BUS components such as gyros, flybarless systems or governors can be connected to the S.BUS port. All S.BUS servos are digitally addressed and can be connected with a single servo line (3 wires). Although 4 servos are installed in a wing, only one servo cable goes into the wing. This keeps the complete wiring very simple and clear. If analog servos are to be used on the S.BUS, they must be connected using a PWM adapter.

S.BUS2 sensors can be connected to the S.BUS2 ports. They transmit up to 32 telemetry data sets. The receiver has an integrated telemetry transmitter that transmits the data to the transmitter (FASSTest only). This allows the measured values to be displayed or acoustically output at the transmitter. In addition, the receiver automatically always transmits the voltage of the receiver power supply (voltage sensor is integrated) and the signal strength.

The receiver supports HV (High Voltage) and can be powered directly from a 2s LiPo battery. Always make sure that the connected servos are also designed for HV!
