Scorpion Competition HK-2221 replacement Shaft 3.5mm

The Scorpion HK-2221 motors are built with 4mm hardened steel shafts that will last through countless hours of flying fun, but occasionally, on a "Less than Perfect" landing, you may bend or break one. For these occasions, we offer factory replacement shafts for all the HK-22mm Scorpion Motors.

This shaft kit is for the HK-2221 series motors that used in newer T-450 Heli. The shaft measures 4mm in diameter, and is 58.7mm in long. The pinion end of this shaft is ground down to 3.5 mm. The shafts can be cut shorter with a Dremel tool and a cut-off wheel if necessary to fit other motors.

Note: The shafts in the Scorpion motors are a slight press fit into the aluminum front housing. The shafts will not just slide out when the setscrews are removed. They need to be pressed out in a bearing press, or in a drill press, with the front housing of the motor supported in a block of wood to prevent warping the front housing

All Scorpion HK Series 22mm motors come with 3.5mm male Bullet style connectors already attached, and include a hardware package that contains 3 matching female Bullet connectors for your speed controller, heat-shrink to cover the bullet connectors and mounting screws. Since the HK series motors are primarily designed for Helicopter and Ducted Fan use, they do not include a prop adapter. If you intend on running a prop on this motor, you will need to purchase a prop adapter for a 3.17mm shaft (1/8 inch).

In order to keep your motor in top running condition, you need a good set of bearings. Occasionally, after a crash or landing in the dirt, the bearings can become damaged and need to be replaced.
The Scorpion HK-40mm Motor Bearing Kit includes a pair of original equipment replacement bearings to fit the Scorpion HK-40 & HKIII-40 Series motors.(Except HK-4015)

Please note, the bearings are an exact fit into the motor housings, so they do fit snugly. When removing the old bearings, you may need to gently tap them out. However, when installing the new bearings, do not tap them in with anything, as this can dent the ball races and ruin the bearings.
When installing ball bearings they need to be pressed in by the outer part of the race. Never apply pressure to the inner race, as this can damage the bearing and lead to premature failure.

The Scorpion HK-4015 motors are built with 8mm hardened steel shafts that will last through countless hours of flying fun, but occasionally, on a "Less than Perfect" landing, you may bend or break one. The shaft kit will also fit other brushless motors that require an 6mm shaft of this length with a 5mm end. The shafts can be cut shorter with a Dremel tool and a cut-off wheel if necessary to fit other motors.
